The Erie West Hospice team is experienced in helping patients with the end stages of lung,
heart, kidney, Alzheimer's/dementia, COPD,
cancers, congestive heart failure, stroke, neuromuscular diseases, and many other illnesses.
Medicare covers these hospice services and pays nearly all of their costs:
Professional Services ( nursing and physician services)
Medical equipment (wheelchairs or hospital beds in the home)
Medical supplies (wound supplies or dressings for wound care
and catheters)
Drugs for symptom control and pain relief
Short term hospital care, including respite and inpatient for pain and symptom management
